Appropriately titled “The Creed”, this sculpture captures a powerful ancient figure of Egyptian origin wearing a long pleated dress and elaborate headdress. The stoic expression on what appears to be an Egyptian high priestess coupled with her stretched out arms is a striking display for such a small statue relative to Chiparus’s other works. The elaborate marble base is composed of onyx with dendritic inclusion and imported granite.
